Adjustments

An adjustment is a safe, holistic procedure whereby a chiropractor moves or manipulates the vertebrae of the spine. This is done to alleviate nerve pressure or irritation to a spinal nerve or area and in global terms impacts the whole nervous system. Spinal adjustments do not hurt and are painless in most cases.

A adjustment is performed when the Chiropractor finds or locates one or more misaligned vertebrae in the spine. Dr. Hershey will usually explain what type of techniques he will use with a patient and why.

Extremity Adjustments

There are other areas of the body that can be adjusted as well such as the hips, pelvis hands, feet, wrists, ankles, elbows and knees, shoulders and hips, ribs and the jaw can be manipulated.

Education

Most people will be glad to know the education your chiropractor received was very extensive and demanding. Chiropractic students undergo thorough teachings in the structure and function of the human body, how disease occurs, and how to prevent, correct and maintain proper health.

Below is a chart comparing the hours and subjects between a chiropractor and a medical doctor.

After reviewing the chart notice that chiropractors have more class hours compared with medical doctors.
